About the MATADOR brand
MATADOR, a.s. is an international tyre manufacturer with headquarters in Púchov, Slovakia. The company exports its products to 80 countries around the world. Matador a.s. does not only produce tyres but also other rubber products, conveyor belts, car parts and machinery. It has its own network of shops and several commercial companies. The biggest recipients of export are UK, USA, Germany and the countries of the CIS. The origins of the Matador date back to September 7th 1905 in Austro-Hungarian Empire. At that time, the company was registered by seven businessmen. In 1906 the first production started at the factory in Bratislava. At the beginning, the plant manufactured rubber hoses and belts. In 1911 the company changed its name to Matador Bratislava. Like most companies in the Eastern Bloc, Matador was nationalized after the Second World War. Matador is one of the fastest growing companies in Slovakia.
